ILEC Requirements

The Cambridge ESOL International Legal English Certificate (Cambridge ILEC) requires an English language ability at Levels B2 or C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)

CEFR Level B2 is equivalent to the Cambridge First Certificate, and CEFR Level C1 is equivalent to the Cambridge Advanced Certificate

ILEC Course Materials

The course textbook used by DCLT is "International Legal English", published by Cambridge University Press which is specially written with ILEC in mind and includes an ILEC practise test supplied by Cambridge ESOL

There are 15 units covering the language of Company Law, Contracts Law, Sale of Goods Law, Employment Law, Real Property Law, Intellectual Property Law, Financial Law and Competition  Law

The course will equip you with a thorough and detailed knowledge of English legal vocabulary and expressions and will make you familiar with the style and sentence structures typical to legal English
